Project Name: DRL10
Location: London, UK
Scope: Competition for a temporary pavilion for the Architectural Association, 2007
For the 10-year anniversary of the Design Research Laboratory program at the AA, proposals were requested for a freestanding temporary pavilion in Bedford Square. The design looked at mathematical operations of 10, and geometries of hinged dissections to create a folding architecture. These folds were able to yield gallery spaces that were continuous from exterior to interior panels, promoting an experience of the pavilion as a mediated promenade of indistinct inside and outside.
